Sep 6 Green Beret Fitness Operation Sniper
Situation
Operation SNIPER is a collaboration between Green Beret Fitness, The SawMill Training Complex, and Born Primitive Tactical. This weekend-long tactical event is designed to simulate the full-spectrum challenges of a Sniper Pair during a mission, testing candidates' endurance, precision, stealth, and adaptability. There will be teaching and training elements during the weekend, as well as assessments.
Candidates will be fully immersed in a realistic training environment where they may remain in the field from Friday night until Sunday, carrying out reconnaissance, marksmanship, and operational tasks under physically and mentally demanding conditions.
Your Instructor Cadre for Operation SNIPER will include active or retired US Naval Special Warfare Sniper Instructors and British Commandos.
Objective
Operation SNIPER will push candidates through a variety of mission-critical skills that may include:
Information & Surveillance – Approach an enemy position undetected and gather intelligence.
Engaging Moving Targets – Hit dynamic, mobile targets at long range.
Engaging Targets from a Moving Platform – Fire accurately while in motion.
Long-Range Shooting (Static Targets) – Test precision on distant, stationary targets.
Nighttime Shoot – Engage targets in low-light conditions.
Insertion Tab/Ruck – Navigate rugged terrain while carrying essential gear.
Camouflage & Concealment – Master stealth and blending into the environment.
Throughout the weekend, candidates will operate in pairs to execute reconnaissance, shooting drills, and mission objectives, simulating real-world sniper operations.
Mission
Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding and practical application of the skills taught throughout the weekend while maintaining a high level of physical fitness, mental resilience, and tactical awareness.
To successfully complete Operation SNIPER, candidates must meet or exceed the required standard—just like in real-world sniper selection and training.
Execution
Candidates will be taught sniper skills and tested on their ability to apply them under pressure.
Candidates will operate in pairs and progress through different tactical phases, from individual marksmanship to coordinated reconnaissance missions.
All candidates must arrive with a backpack carrying a minimum of 20 lbs (excluding water, food, and firearms).
Candidates may remain in the field the entire weekend and must manage their own hydration, rest, and gear maintenance between events.

While not mandatory, smoke grenades can be useful for concealment, signaling, and tactical drills if your pair is compromised and needs to extract in a contact.
- Water. There will be water available at the SawMill. Candidates are advised to use hydration bladders.
- Medical. All candidates must carry a personal medical kit suitable for treating minor injuries and managing personal medical needs. GBF Staff must be informed of any medical conditions before the event begins. This includes any pre-existing injuries, allergies, or conditions that could impact performance. If at any point GBF staff determine that a candidate is medically unfit to continue, they may be withdrawn from the event for their own safety. This decision is final and made in the best interest of the candidate’s well-being.
- Accommodation. The SawMill Training Complex offers new on-site accommodation with 4-man rooms featuring en suite bathrooms, providing candidates with a comfortable place to rest and recover. A special deal is available for those staying Friday and Saturday night, and GBF encourages candidates to take advantage of this excellent facility, which includes a kitchen, gym, and outdoor space, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges of the event.
Please book early and directly with The Sawmill to avoid disappointment. Book HERE.
- Transport. Transport to and from the event is the candidate's own responsibility. There is plenty of on-site parking, and candidates will have access to their vehicles throughout the weekend. However, we ask that you inform us if you leave the event for any reason.
- Weapon. Candidates must bring a rifle and a pistol for the event. If you are unsure whether your weapon is permitted, please email info@GreenBeretFitness.com for clarification. Candidates may use any sights or optics of their choice; however, Green Beret Fitness and The SawMill Training Complex are not responsible for any damage caused by water, impact, or environmental conditions.
- Ammunition. This event is designed for realistic sniper operations, balancing stealth, reconnaissance, and precision engagements. While there will be plenty of shooting, this isn’t about wasting rounds—it’s about waiting for the perfect shot and making it count.
We recommend bringing 200-300 rounds, ensuring you have enough for both marksmanship drills and live tactical scenarios.
Ammunition is available for purchase at The Sawmill if needed.
- Targets. Targets will be a mix of paper and steel, depending on the phase of training. Paper targets will be used during the weapon handling and assessment phase to evaluate accuracy and shot placement. Steel targets will be used for most exercise drills, providing immediate feedback and simulating real-world engagements.
